How time does fly. Already my baby is seven months. I can't quite believe it myself. With Violet trying out little bits of food here and there over the past month, I found that I only had two bibs that still fit. Which wasn't quite cutting it. Sewing a batch of bibs was well and truly overdue. Would you believe this was on my pregnancy to do list?
I modified an online pattern and adjusted it until it fit Violet just right. A nice big generous size. I used vintage cotton sheeting for the front and backed it with two layers of flannel from some old sheets. Sewing right sides together, leaving a two inch gap, then turning right side out, press and finishing by top stitching around the edges, making sure to close the gap.
I used velcro to close, but discovered I had accidentally bought the stick on type. It is supposed to adhere to fabric, but guess what? It doesn't, coming right off in the wash. So I'll be popping some press studs on very soon.
Our little model in the first sample piece. And all done just in time, as I found her first little tooth pushing through just this morning.
